Ingredients

sugar | | 1/2 | cup
water | | 1 | tsp.
ground cinnamon | | 1/4 | tsp.
ground nutmeg | | 3 | cups
walnut halves, pecan halves, or almonds | | 1 | tsp.
pure vanilla extract |

Directions
 | Line baking sheet with foil. Butter foil; set aside. Butter sides of heavy 2-quart saucepan. In saucepan combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until boiling. Clip candy thermometer to pan. Cook and stir over medium-high heat about 7 minutes or until thermometer registers 240°F |  | Remove saucepan from heat. Remove thermometer. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Pour onto prepared pan. Cool. Break into pieces |
