baking potatoes, thinly sliced, or 3/4 lb. baking potatoes, thinly sliced, plus 1/4 lb. taro, peeled and thinly sliced
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 1 1/2-quart casserole; set aside.
In medium saucepan cook apple in butter until tender. Stir in flour and pepper; add chicken broth and milk. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese, a little at a time, until melted.
Layer half the potatoes in prepared casserole. Top with half the sauce. Repeat layers of potatoes and sauce. Bake, covered, 40 minutes. Uncover; continue baking 30 to 35 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
